Nicoletta “Nikki” Mary (nee Iamarino) Barbato

Nikki passed away Thursday evening, March 20, 2025, surrounded by family, friends, much love and many prayers. A special and loving thank you to her EnnisCourt family for all of their exceptional care and devotion.
She was born April 25, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio. A keypunch operator at Cleveland Trust in her early career, she went on to become a homemaker, and a hospital volunteer later in life. She was a resident of Lake County for 60 years.
Nicoletta was the devoted wife of John F. Barbato; cherished, loving mother of John S. Barbato and Pamela J. (Leonard Kuczynski) Barbato; beloved, loving grandmother of Jerry F. (Isabel) Barbato, John A. Barbato and Bonnie Nicoletta (Geoff) Cannon; loving great-grandmother of Giuliana Barbato, Joseph Barbato and Reagan Cannon; dearest niece, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, special friend to many. She was also lovingly committed to all her extended and chosen family and friends, especially Mike “Mikey” Donovan and family. Throughout her life, a special affection was shared with her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Saverio and Josephine (nee Ciciretti) Iamarino; brothers, Salvatore, “Sam” Iamarino, and Gayton “Butchie” Iamarino; brothers-in-law, Jerry A. Barbato (Dawn Hailey), and Frank Nerone (Madalyn, dec); and sister-in-law, Carmela P. (nee Nerone) Ferrante (Armand Sr., dec).
Nikki lived to love and be loved. She was deeply committed to her family and her faith. With her infectious smile, quick wit, and playful sense of humor, she radiated beauty, both inside and out. Her wisdom, kindness, and compassion shone brightest when surrounded by her family, whom she loved with deep, unwavering pride and devotion.
Grateful for every blessing life offered, Nikki embraced each moment with a heart full of gratitude. She was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her determination was a testament to her strength, and her appreciation for her family, friends, and life itself never wavered.
She truly was the best, and a blessing. So deeply loved, her absence will be felt beyond measure. Her light, love, faith, and joy will forever remain in our hearts. In her honor, please hug loved ones and/or perform kind deeds. Please also take the opportunity to pray the Rosary she so revered.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 28, at The Abbey of Willoughby, located at 38011 Euclid Ave. Willoughby, Ohio, on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m., all are welcome to attend. Burial to follow Mass at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland.
