Funeral services for Darold Lynn Moss Sr., 72, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 939 West Birch Street, Glenrock, Wyoming with Pastor Jonathan Durkopp officiating.  Interment will be in the Glenrock Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Darold Moss died on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home in Casper, Wyoming. 

He was born on Thursday, November 27, 1952 in Douglas, Wyoming the son of Robert Harold and Ludy Mae (Coalson) Moss, the oldest brother of five siblings.  Darold was raised and educated in Glenrock and graduated from the Glenrock High School in 1971.  He attended and graduated from WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming in 1973 receiving a certificate for a mechanic.

Darold’s working career of 43 years as a mechanic included jobs with Thatcher and Sons in Glenrock, Bear Creek Uranium in Douglas, and gold mines in Nevada.  He returned to Wyoming and worked for North Antelope Rochelle Mine (NARM) for 18 years, where he acquired black lung disease.

Darold married Sandra Lee Lore on February 4,2006 in Glenrock, they had met in the seventies while working as roustabouts in the oilfields in the Glenrock area.

He enjoyed traveling, dancing, and swimming.  Darold is with our Lord, which he loved dearly, and he took his faith seriously.  He served his church as an elder and mowing the lawn of the church grounds.

Darold is survived by his wife, Sandra Moss, of Glenrock; children, Shannon Moss of Twin Falls, Idaho, Darold Moss Jr. of Casper, Kenneth Durbin of Glenrock, and Kendra (Rick) Chorniak of Casper; siblings

George (Barbara) Moss of Savery, Wyoming, Richard (Angie) Moss of Mountlake Terrace, Washington, John Moss of Gillette, Wyoming, and Karol (Ken) Gaskill of Amherst, Colorado; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, on March 8, 1998; mother, Ludy, on January 24, 2012; and brother, Milton Moss, on December 18, 1998.

Serving as pallbearers will be George Moss, Richard Moss, John Moss, Kenneth Durbin, Ken Gaskill, and Larry Blaylock.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Darold Moss Jr., Robert Kuhlman, Fred Borgan, Jeremy Borgan, Rick Chorniak, and Larry Rice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Luther Classical College, 2300 South Hickory Street, Casper, Wyoming 82604 would be appreciated by the family.
