Janet Sue Smock died March 20, 2025.
You should have known her! Janet was an amazing woman. She was curious beyond words and lived life more freely than most will ever know. Although she never drove nor owned a car, she navigated life as freely as a butterfly. Her friend, Paul, helped her accomplish this feat.
Janet loved playing the piano, especially Elton John tunes. Although she was a fan of Elton John, she was as well versed with other musicians as diverse as Bill Monroe, REO Speedwagon, Journey, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Judas Priest and Megadeth. Her diversity in musical flavors was like her pursuit of knowledge.
She enjoyed making pottery, drawing with pen and ink, making jewelry and teddy bears and other stuffed animals. She shared this interest with her mom as they sold their masterpieces in Nashville, IN shops. She also served her mom as her receptionist during her commercial real estate business days.
She loved her parents Schuyler and Barbara immensely as well as her uncle Bill Weaver. She was a kind and thoughtful person who saw the best in others. She was a fan of Café Pizzeria and the owner David Webb.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Sue Smock and Schuyler Smock. Her sister, Carol Jo Anne Smock also died earlier.
