Jerry James Mooney Obituary

Jerry James Mooney was born on October 31, 1939 and passed peacefully on March 20, 2025 with his wife by his side. Jerry grew up in Watertown, SD. He enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17, and spent the next 20 years proudly serving his country. On November 14, 1968 he married the love of his life, Barbara, and became a father to Lori and Dana. When Jerry retired he moved his family to Wolf Point, MT. He worked as a manager at Buttrey's until he and Barb moved and made Billings their home in order to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. Jerry will be greatly missed by those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy, his mother, Mildred, his brother Ron, and best friend, Charlie Stout. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his daughters, Lori(Mike) and Dana(Ed); nephew, David(Teresa); grandchildren, Jeremy(Kristine), Ryan(Lindsey), Janii(Jeremy), Jaymi(Dusty), Jerika(Steve), Ryder(Ciara), Cory and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Carson, Korbin, Quinn, Olivia, Audia and Gage. We will be celebrating Jerry's life on March 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Connections Church, 5554 Grand Avenue, Billings, MT. Internment with military honors at Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, MT will be at a later date. Any and all who want to celebrate with us is welcome.
