Dale Robbins, 88, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, March 20 at Reid Health.

Dale was born on January 10, 1937 in New Garden Township to Leo Jefferson and Anna Mae Pike Robbins. He graduated from Fountain City High School in 1955. Dale married the former Shelby Longworth on October 6, 1957. They were blessed with three children and 56 years together until her death on March 26, 2016.

Dale formerly served in the Indiana National Guard. He enjoyed a long career as a maintenance electrician at Johns-Manville and was a Charter Member of the Webster Township Volunteer Fire Department. He always took pride in maintaining his home and yard and enjoyed every chance to spend time with his family. He also liked to watch Westerns, eat his sweets and play an occasional game of golf.

Dale will be missed by his children, Jennifer Hughes & husband, Jim; Julie Kates & husband, Bill; Mark Robbins & wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Alex Hughes & wife, Meghen, Ashton Harvey, Tyler Stanley, Thomas Stanley and Kristen Kates; great-grandchildren, Keyan Stanley, Kash Stanley, Ellison Stanley and Jaxton Kates; and several nieces & nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Robbins; parents; and sisters, Genevieve Reynolds and Barbara Catey; and his second wife of 7 years, Marilyn Sue Bowers.

Visitation for Dale will be from 11:00 a.m.2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.

A funeral ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery.
