A beloved son, brother, and friend, Richard was a kind and selfless soul who never wanted to burden others with his troubles. He will be remembered for his warm heart, unwavering love for his family and friends, and his enjoyment of football—especially his Clemson Tigers.
Born and raised in Greenville, Richard was a proud South Carolinian whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. He is survived by his loving partner Donna Durham and his sister, Elizabeth D. Stackpole. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard O. Stephens Sr. and Vivian V. Stephens.
Richard’s kindness and quiet strength touched many lives, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. Though he is gone, his spirit remains in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
