Macon, GA – John Michael Cox, 51, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
John was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, and later made Macon, Georgia, his home. A talented self-employed carpenter, he took great pride in his work and enjoyed using his skills to create and fix things. He had a passion for working with his hands, whether it was tinkering with cars and motors, fine-tuning sound systems, or sketching intricate pirate ship drawings. His love for astronomy and interest in Native American artifacts reflected his deep curiosity about the world and its history.
John was preceded in death by his father, Gary Cox. Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Jamie Poteat (T.J.), Bobby Cox, Breanna Hubbard (Tyler), Gary Cox, Jesse Cox, and Autumn Clayton (Rusty); his beloved grandchildren, Camber, Wade, Olivia, Mal'akhi, and Liam; his mother, Debra Moody Rivas; his brother, Jason Cox; his sisters, Trish, Amanda, and Kate; his devoted girlfriend, Erin Stanfield; and a dear family friend, Denee Weston.
John will be remembered for his skilled craftsmanship, his boundless curiosity, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
Rest easy, John—you will be deeply missed.
