The village of Lyn has lost one of its sons. In his 69th year William (Bill) Francis Dempsey passed unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep Thursday, March 20th 2025.

Born and raised in Lyn to his doting parents, Frank & Dorothy Dempsey, Bill never left the village for long.

Locals have hunted, fished, shared a drink, and played music with Bill over the years, creating stories to tell for generations.

Bill leaves behind his broken-hearted and loving partner of 31 years, Cathe Bulanda.

His daughters Jackie (Matt) and Jessie (Mike) are left with feelings of great love and loss.

Bill will be deeply missed by his brother Clark (Donna), nephews Ryan (Jennifer) and Shawn (Ramona).

He will be remembered by his step children Veronica (Brady) and Virginia, step-grandchildren Erica, Izzy, Liam and Griffin, and the mother of his children, Betty. He will be deeply missed by his cats, Amber and Buddy.

Bill’s life will be celebrated in a graveside service in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy donations to Ronald McDonald House-Ottawa will be gratefully acknowledged.
