It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Gary Kobelski, Jr, who left us way too soon on March 20, 2025 at the age of 40 after battling an illness. He was born on January 2, 1985 in New London, CT. Gary touched the lives of everyone he encountered with his infectious laugh, warm smile, and his gift to gab.
Gary was not only a devoted husband and father but also a loving son, brother and cherished friend. Throughout his life, he demonstrated an enormous devotion to those he cared about. His passion for cars and atvs brought him joy and whether he was flying his drone or gabbing to the random stranger that he just met, his smile and compassion were felt by all who knew him.
Gary shared many years of happiness and laughter with his beloved wife, Ashley. He was a father whose love knew no bounds, a man whose heart beat in rhythm with the laughter of his daughters. A loving brother to his best friend who did everything together, from fishing at dawn to laughing until midnight. Together, they built a life filled with unforgettable memories, shared dreams, and an enduring love that will continue to live on in the hearts of their family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley (Kollar) Kobelski and their three young daughters, Brooke, Erin and Kylie. As well as his mother Rose Kobelski of Groton; brother Matthew Kobelski of Oakdale; his sister Lori Kobelski of Groton; nephews Benjamin, Josiah, Gabriel Gilleo and Michael Bryant of Groton and Zachary Troland of Waterford; his half brother Christopher Potter of Daytona, FL. Additionally his mother in law and father in law Lisa and Christopher Schrock of Oakdale; father in law Robert Kollar Sr of Uniontown, PA; his brother in law Timothy, wife Laura, nieces and nephew Isabella, Amber, and Michael Kollar of Uncasville; plus many aunts, uncles and cousins who will forever treasure his legacy. He was predeceased by his father Gary Kobelski Sr, brother in law Robert Kollar Jr, and grandparents.
Family and friends can gather on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 3-7 pm at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Rd, Uncasville, CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 10:00am atWoyasz & Son Funeral Home followed by burial services at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Depot Rd, Uncasville.
