Kevin Ray Talbert, a spirited soul known for his humor, kindness, and loving nature, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, in his hometown of Kokomo, IN. Born on September 17, 1950, to the late Kenneth Ray Talbert and Mona Lee Martin-Talbert, Kevin's life was one marked by joy, resilience, and the love of his cherished family and friends.
Kevin was a proud graduate of Eastern High School, where he formed many lasting friendships and developed a strong sense of community. After graduation, he embarked on a diverse career path, initially working for Delco Electronics for eight years. His entrepreneurial spirit shone bright as he later owned and operated Tab's Pizza, with successful locations in Bisbee, Arizona, and Bunker Hill, bringing joy to many with his delicious creations.
In 2007, Kevin married the love of his life, Bonnie L. Talbert, who predeceased him in 2021. Together, they shared a profound bond of love and companionship. Kevin also leaves behind his devoted sister, Colette (Don) Hoover, his bonus mom, Annie Talbert, and bonus sister, Lynna (Paul) Henry, bonus brothers, Joe (Denise) Farrer and Mark Farrer,. His legacy continues through his loving granddaughters, Amber Rose Stein and Avontashia Forsythe, who will miss their grandfather's endless support and playful spirit.
Kevin was fortunate to have an extended family of friends who were like brothers to him, including Evan Lewis, Rick Surface, Lynn Flora, and Dave Lundy. He was preceded in death by his good friend Pat Puterbaugh and his stepdaughter, Carolyn Forsythe. His memory will also be cherished by his numerous relatives from the Martin and Talbert families.
A man of faith, Kevin was a dedicated member of the Morning Star Church, where he found solace and strength in his community and spiritual life. His interests outside of work and church were diverse and passionate. An avid gun enthusiast, Kevin enjoyed shooting and target practice, often sharing this pastime with friends and family. His love for riding motorcycles, especially his cherished Harley Davidson, was well known, and he could often be found on the open road, reveling in the freedom and camaraderie that riding provided.
Kevin's presence was one that could light up a room, his sense of humor and laughter infectious to all who were around him. He approached life with a kind and loving heart, always ready to help a friend in need or to share a moment of joy. His ability to find the good in people and situations was a gift that he generously shared, leaving a positive impact on the lives he touched.
As we bid farewell to Kevin Ray Talbert, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man dearly loved. His stories, jokes, and the warmth of his smile will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. Kevin's journey on earth may have concluded, but the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him best.
In keeping with his unwavering spirit, let us honor Kevin's legacy by living fully, loving deeply, and laughing often, just as he did throughout his remarkable life.
