Sixto A. Barlaan, born on April 6, 1943, in the Philippines, passed away peacefully from natural causes on March 20, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. He is fondly remembered as a dedicated cook in the hospital industry, where he shared his passion for food with both patients and staff alike.
Sixto was a loving husband to his wife, Jacinta Barlaan; he is preceded in death by his devoted parents, Alfredo Barlaan and Amparo Aquino. He cherished moments spent with family and friends, often engaging in his favorite hobbies, which included fishing, cooking, and watching television. Sixto was deeply involved in his church Eucharistic ministry and took great pleasure in traveling, where he created many lasting memories.
The Barlaan family will hold a series of memorial services to celebrate Sixto's life. A visitation will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 4pm - 6pm at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens. A Funeral Mass is scheduled the following morning, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Clearwater, with a committal service to follow back at Curlew Hills Cemetery at 11:30 AM. A reception will be held at Duff's Buffet, 26111 US Hwy 19 N, Clearwater, FL 33763.
