Kathleen "Kathy" Beverly McKellar passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, age 67.
Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg on Thursday, March 27, 2025 beginning at 12:00 PM and followed by a service at 2:00 PM.
Kathy was born on September 13, 1957 in Hattiesburg, MS. She graduated from Hattiesburg High School, where she was active in the band and many other activities. She graduated from USM, marrying the love of her life Vance McKellar. She taught school in Gulf Breeze, FL before returning to Hattiesburg to raise her two sons, Garrett and West. She continued to be active in education, working various roles over the years at PCS preschool.
Kathy was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. Her strong faith and love of God led her to serve others and care for those she met. She found joy in music, singing, family, children, reading, and the many friendships in her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Patricia Beverly Raulston, Gerald Beverly, and Dr. William Raulston; husband, Dr. Vance McKellar; and sister, Barbara Raulston Moon.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Mary Gay Raulston Li (George), Janie Raulston Cragin (Trent), Gilbert Raulston (Deb), Keith Raulston (Elizabet), Connie Beverly Gore, Carol Beverly White (Bobby), and Russell Raulston; brother-in-law, David McKellar (Ginny); her children, Garrett and West McKellar; and nieces and nephews, Marcie Fisher-Bourne (Kamper), Tricia Gore Benac, Keith Gore, Brittany Gore Odom (Troy), Emily Raulston, Loren Rae Easterling Grace (Rusty),Beverly Easterling Maxwell (Dariun), Laura Raulston McCarthy (Matt), Warner Raulston, Evangeline Raulston, Collin Cragin, Anne-Kyle Cragin Jolesch (Drew), Luke Cragin, Tiger Li, Noah Li, Park Li, Phoebe Li, Avery Li, Haven Li, Calvin Li, Marshall McKellar, Gabrielle McKellar, Daniel McKellar (Kayla), Anne Michelle McKellar Smith (Hayden), Isabelle McKellar, Abigail McKellar, Arielle McKellar, and Danielle McKellar. She loved and was loved by many!
