It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful, loving mother, Mariah Walters, aged 92, on Thursday, March 20th, 2025, with her loving family by her side at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing, NL.

Born in Robinson's, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles and Jane Gale. She was predeceased by: her loving husband Gerald; great grandchildren: Mary and Harrison; son-in-law Jim MacPherson; Mariah was the last surviving member of her siblings: brother Jim “Bud” (Dinah); and sisters: Hilda (Edward) Alley, Orpah (Doug) Huelin, Leah Bannister, and Bertha (Jim) McCormack; in-laws: Rupert (Louise), Ike, Earl (Mary) Walters; and special nephew Jerry Alley.

Mariah leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: her children: Gale MacPherson, Jane Coleman, Wanda (John), and Gerald Wayne (Kim); precious grandchildren: Natasha (Dave), James (Megan), Ieasha (Keaton), Jarrod (Felicia), Jillian (Dan), Jody, Jennifer, Jacob, and Sarah; precious great grandchildren: Evan, Victoria (Mike), Madison (Brian), David (Katelyn), Sawyer, Duncan, Brooklyn, Gavin, Gibson, Darrah, Adleigh, Jaxson, Kirsten, Kadyn, and Jaxson; precious great great grandchildren: Wyatt and Greyson; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Walters and Ruth Ledrew; and special niece Bertha (Stan) McCormack; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mariah was a woman of great faith and was happiest when surrounded by her family. Mom had a contagious smile and laugh which will be missed by all she encountered.

The family would like to say thank you to all the staff who cared for Mom over the years and in her final days at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre.

Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations in Mariah’s memory may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church, Robinson’s.
