Marjorie Christine (Waterman) Townsend, age 77, of Foxborough and Falmouth, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Magnolia Heights in Franklin, MA. She was the daughter of the late Ronald and Dorothy (Tweddle) Waterman. Beloved mother of Mike Townsend of Foxborough and his fiancé Maria Crenshaw and Mary and her husband Eric Lee of Lexington. Loving grandmother of Zack, Brendan, and Fiona. Sister of Ronald Waterman and his wife Tiger of Vermont, the late David Waterman and his wife Cynthia of New York, the late Lorraine Hossfield of Foxborough, and the late Bill Waterman and his wife Debra of Attleboro. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was born in Norwood on August 19, 1947, and graduated from Rhode Island College and Tufts University. She worked as a Business Systems Analyst at Motorola for many years, getting several promotions when few women worked on computers and technology. She then transitioned to a career in Occupational Therapy, treating people in the Cape Cod area. She formed meditation groups and participated in a program that taught meditation to parolees. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed camping with her family and working in her garden. In her later years, she was an artist who created stone carvings and fabric wall hangings that showcased her imagination and interest in science and nature. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who most enjoyed spending time with her family.
