Eddie Herrera. Beloved husband of Jody (nee Walleck) Herrera. Cherished father of Alyson and Daniel Herrera. Loving son of the late Leopoldo and the late Isabel (nee Utterback) Herrera. Dearest brother of Patricia (Kenneth) Cleveland, Alex (Carmen) Herrera, Eva (Francisco) Ayento, and Leo Herrera. Dear uncle of Carl Ayento, Patrick Herrera, his “Godchild” Sandra (Elyse Holguin) Herrera, David Ayento, Robert (Ashley) Cleveland, Adam Cleveland, his “Godchild” Jacob Cleveland, Laura (Edgar Ruvalcaba) Ayento, Amanda Herrera, Alexandra (Courtney Lively) Herrera, and his “Godchild” Jacob Utterback. Fond great-uncle and a wonderful friend to many.  Eddie enjoyed a round of golf and spending time with friends. An avid football fan, Eddie took great pride in co-hosting a championship Sunday party at the end of the NFL season for family and friends. What made him truly special was Eddie’s approach to life which he lived authentically and unapologetically, embracing each day with enthusiasm and purpose. Knowing Eddie, he would not want us to mourn him but rather celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the profound impact he had on all of us. Prayers for Eddie will be held on Friday, March 28th, 9:45 AM at Casey & Rios Funeral Home 4540 West Diversey Avenue, Chicago, IL 60639 proceeding to St. Hyacinth Basilica for his funeral mass beginning at 10:30 AM. As per the family wishes, private cremation rites will follow after mass. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 27th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
