Robert "Bob" Ray Anderson was born on March 23, 1951 to Lee and Ruth (Schubel) Anderson in Rolla, Missouri. He passed away peacefully in Rolla, Missouri on March 20, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Bob graduated from Rolla High School in 1969 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Math and Business from Southwest Missouri State. He was a cherished member of the University of Missouri – Rolla, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity (Alpha-Delta 761). He then transferred to Southwest Missouri State University, where he played an influential role in creating the Beta-Psi chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha. On November 18, 1978, Bob married Jo Ann Bingham at Round Pond Baptist Church in Salem, Missouri.
Bob had a successful career as a realtor with Williams Real Property and Bill Brown Realty. He previously owned the Town House Pancake Shop and the Days Inn in Rolla. Bob was actively involved in his community. He served on the Planning and Zoning Commission in Rolla for twenty years and was a member of the Rolla Chamber of Commerce. Bob was also a dedicated member of Masonic Lodge 213, where he served as master, and the Abou Ben Adhem Shriners. Additionally, he was part of the South Central Shrine Club, where he held the title of rajah, entertained as Bubbles the clown, and helped raise funds for the Shriners Children’s Hospital. He especially loved participating in the annual onion sales.
Bob will be remembered for his funny personality, his dedication to his family, and his commitment to his community. He had a passion for playing the piano, watching Cardinal baseball, venturing outdoors, watching a sunset, and loved spending time with his grandsons.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann, and his daughters, Stephanie (Tony) Airoldi of Lake Saint Louis, MO, and Dena (Cody) Phelps of Englewood, CO. Bob was a proud grandfather to Xander and Remy Airoldi of Lake Saint Louis, MO. He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Carol) Anderson of Savannah, GA, and his nephews, Chris (Rhonda) Anderson and Jeff (Leslie) Anderson and niece Leanne (Tim) Davis of Kansas City, MO and numerous other great nephews and nieces. He also had countless friends that he loved like family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ruth Anderson, Jo Ann’s parents, Esco and Louama Bingham, brother Jerry Anderson, and sister-in-law Joanne Anderson.
A celebration of Bob's life will take place on March 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Rolla (919 E 10th St, Rolla, MO), with a welcome period the hour preceding. Following the service, a party will be held at the Diamond Event Center (1325 S Bishop Ave, Rolla, MO), where the visitation will also occur.
