Donald Pennington, 85, husband of Rella Beasley Pennington died Thursday, March 20th, 2025 in Harrodsburg. Born July 14th, 1939 in Clay County, he was the son of the late Mack and Della Hensley Pennington. He was a retired Osram Sylvania employee and a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church. He enjoyed using his chainsaw, mowing, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Additional survivors including his wife are one daughter: Trish (Chris) Dunbar of Harrodsburg; one brother: Arthur (Judy) Pennington of Ohio; two sisters: Betty Baker and Eunice Cole, both of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren: Matt Dunbar, Andrew (Alex) Dunbar and McKenzie (Jacob) Coleman and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Stanley and Forrest Pennington and three sisters: Polly Lamb, Susan Baker and Emma Hicks.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Shawn Durham officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Chris Dunbar, Matt Dunbar, Andrew Dunbar, Jacob Coleman, Chad Beasley and Damon Beasley serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
