Mary Sue Kidwell, 84, of Seymour, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2025. She was born on July 1, 1940, in Dixon City, VA, to her parents, Daniel and Dellena Bishop. Mary was a member of Crossroad Missionary Baptist Church, Seymour.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Cecil Bishop, Vernon Stephen Bishop, and Gilbert Bishop; her sister, Willadean “Wanda” Bishop; and brother-in-law, Braxton Sawyer.

Mary is survived by her sons, David Gray (Amy), and James Gray (Kelly); grandchildren, Jennifer Gray (Edward Vasquez), Christopher Gray (Farin), Nicole Gray; great-grandchildren, Felicity and Trevor Gray; sisters, Millie Sawyer, Linda Russell, Joyce Rhoden (Danny); and brother, Danny Bishop (Ramona); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday, March 24th at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour, with the Funeral Service to follow at 7 PM at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel, 122 Peacock Ct., Seymour, TN 37865, with Pastor Bryan Rhoden officiating. The Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, March 25th in Vermont United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1817 Bloomingdale Pike, Kingsport, TN 37660.
