Donald Beatty Barrett

April 18, 1936 – March 20, 2025

Beatty Barrett passed peacefully away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, he was 88 years young. Originally from Bishops Cove, Dad & Mom married in 1964 and moved to Toronto for 10 years. They happily moved back to Newfoundland in 1975 and settled in Bay Roberts where they stayed and raised their family.

Left with a lifetime of beautiful memories are his wife, Verna, their sons, Trent (Kim), Trevor (Kim), and Todd (Berni) and their grandchildren Holly, Noah, Christian, Morgan, and Gabriel as well as extended family and friends.

Dad dearly loved his family and he loved to “have a play” so If you hear the sweet sound of guitar picking, to some good ol' Newfie country music, know he is playing his favorite tunes from that Opry stage in the sky! So pour up your favorite beverage, one for him too... kick back and enjoy, life is too short.

Thank you to the Bay Roberts Retirement Center for their loving care in recent years.

Burial service will take place 11:30am on Saturday, April 12th at St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery, Central Street, Bay Roberts followed by a celebration at the family home at 28 Love Street, Coley's Point between 2pm-4pm.
