Nancyann E. Trotter, age 94, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 20, 2025. She was born November 10, 1930 in Ann Arbor, the youngest of three children to Gottlob C. and Ethel R. (Weed) Schmid of Dixboro.

She graduated from University High School and on November 23, 1951 married Darrell K. Trotter of Ypsilanti. She grew up in Dixboro and when Darrell retired, they returned to her family home in Dixboro.

Nancyann enjoyed travel to Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, Canada, Australia, Italy, Germany, France and throughout the US and enjoyed going on trips with the Pittsfield Seniors. She was an accomplished seamstress, avid reader and loved her flower gardens. She rode PALM (biking) multiple times and went snowmobiling with her grandchildren and even did the Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk into her 80s. She was more hard-headed and stubborn than a mule most days, you didn't dare tell her "no" because then she would do it just to prove her point.

She was a devoted member of Dixboro United Methodist Church for 82 years. She was the glue who held our family together and will be truly missed, but knowing she's finally reunited with Darrell puts everyone at ease.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gottlob and Ethel Schmid; her husband, Darrell K. Trotter; her son, David K. Trotter; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Lee G. BeGole; her brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Arlene Schmid; and nephews, Bernard BeGole and Robert Schmid.

Nancyann is survived by four children, Janet (Todd) Barber of Tipton, MI, Richard (Tammy) Trotter of Stockbridge, MI, Barry (Angela) Trotter of Brooklyn, MI, and Duane (Tami) Trotter of Dixboro; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life plans have not been finalized yet.
