Ofelia Rodriguez De Galvan Obituary

Ofelia Rodriguez De Galvan, lovingly known by her grandchildren as "Mamaguela," passed away on March 20, 2025, in Pomona, California, at the age of 75.

Born on August 29, 1949, in Zacatepec, Morelos, Mexico, Ofelia was raised in a big family filled with responsibility. From a young age, she embraced the role of caretaker, becoming a second mother to her ten younger siblings. It was within the walls of her childhood home that she discovered her true calling, one that would define her life’s purpose as a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother.

Ofelia dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family. As a mother and accomplished homemaker, she mastered the art of nurturing with patience and grace. Her resourcefulness and adaptability allowed her to create a warm and welcoming home where love flourished. She was known for her impeccable organization, ability to manage household tasks effortlessly and for her exceptional cooking, delighting those around her with meals made from the heart.

She shared a deep and unwavering bond with her husband, Andres Galvan. Their love was steadfast, and Ofelia found immense purpose in simply being by his side. She leaves behind their children—Gabriela, Guadalupe, Ofelia, Mario Andres, Cristobal, and Zyanya—who will forever cherish the lessons she imparted through her selfless acts of service. Her legacy continues through her 20 grandchildren who were blessed to experience her warmth, care and affection.

Ofelia is also survived by three sisters and eight brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Rodriguez and Aurora Bandera; her brothers Samuel and Rogelio Rodriguez; and her sisters Maria Trinidad and Xochitl Rodriguez.

A social butterfly at heart, Ofelia thrived in the company of family and friends. She loved gatherings filled with conversation and laughter. Music was an essential part of her life—she enjoyed singing along to melodies that brought joy to those around her. Whether dancing while tidying up or beautifying her surroundings with care, she found happiness in even the simplest moments.

Her greatest joy came from serving others—especially her husband, children, and younger siblings. Her cheerful personality and good sense of humor made every interaction memorable. She had an innate ability to brighten any room with her presence.

Ofelia passed away on the first day of spring—a season marked by blooming flowers that remind us to live in the moment and appreciate life’s fleeting beauty. Just like flowers that grow, bloom, thrive, and eventually fade away, so too did she embrace each stage of life with grace. From now on, every flower will serve as a reminder of Ofelia—of her presence that lingers in the hearts of those who loved her.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
