Celebrating the Life Of Arbedella “Arbie” Gearhart

Our beloved Arbedella Gearhart, age 87, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 20th, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 1st, 1937, to the late Bessie and Wilford Roseberry in Soldier, Kentucky. Arbie lived a life full of love, faith, and community spirit.

A devoted member of Globe Christian Church, Arbie cherished every Sunday spent with her church family. Her commitment to community extended beyond the church as she was a proud member of the Upper Tygart Homemakers for over thirty years. Known for her inspirational spirit, Arbie owned and operated Gearhart’ s Hardware, a thriving local business in Globe, Kentucky.

Arbie’s passion included spending quality time with her family, volunteering at Soup at 6, and indulging in Hallmark movies around the clock. Her unwavering faith in God was a cornerstone of her life, and she shared this faith generously with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Van Franklin Gearhart; two brothers, Cle Roseberry and Wilford Ray Roseberry; one sister, Lenora Hudson, and one grandchild, Dillon Depolo.

Arbie leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family; two daughters, Vanessa (Lorne) Gearhart of Olive Hill, KY and Caryn (Brandon) Kirkland of Lebanon, Tennessee; four sons, Michael (Patricia) Gearhart of Escondido, CA, Brian (Minda) Gearhart of Valley Center, CA, Gregory (Judy) Gearhart of Owingsville, KY, and Kevin (Shonna) Gearhart of Escondido, CA; two sisters, Guin Chapman of Knightstown, IN, and Nina Murray of Hagerstown, IN; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Globe Christian Church, 70 Church Drive, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Pastor David Rayburn officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
