Nina Ruth Lewis Obituary

Mrs. Nina Ruth Lewis, age 82, of Vidalia, died Thursday, March 20, 2025, at her home following an extended illness.  She was born in Stilson in Bulloch County, as a child moved to Glenwood, and she was a 1961 graduate of Glenwood High School.  She lived in Vidalia most of her life, and she worked at Roydon Wear in Mt. Vernon for many years, and retired from Savannah Luggage Works.  She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and she enjoyed sewing, planting flowers, and shopping.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Burley Royal McGowan and Annie Laura Adams McGowan.

Her family includes her husband of fifty-nine years, Curtis M. Lewis; two sons, Mike Lewis and wife Angie, all of Vidalia, and Brian J. Lewis and wife Christy of Roswell; five grandchildren, Tye Lewis and Delany Hendricks of Waycross, Yna Lewis of Roswell, Maggie Lewis of Gainesville, Troy Lewis of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Tricia Lewis of Atlanta; one great-grandson, Henry Banx Lewis; two sisters, Annette White of Dublin, and Juanita Riddle of Darien, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Carolyn Burns of Soperton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, March 23rd, at 4:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Randy McDuffie officiating.  Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
