Rolanda "Rolly" Glaesener Frazier Obituary

Mrs. Rolanda Glaesener Frazier, 83, affectionately known as Rolly, passed away on March 20th, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Rolly was born to Gaston and Irene Glaesener on May 11th, 1941, in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. She spent most of her later childhood in Lausanne, Switzerland, with her mother and stepfather, George Lagnaz. George's work allowed her family to travel extensively throughout Europe. In 1957, in Madrid, Spain, she met Winston-Salem native and Air Force serviceman Jack Frazier, her “Sweet Pea.”

Jack and Rolly married on May 26th, 1959, in Madrid, Spain, and returned to Winston-Salem on July 4th, 1960. Rolly was first a mother and homemaker. When her youngest child began school in 1975, she started her career in retail under the wing of the Kaplan family at Tiny Town in Thruway Shopping Center.

In 1980 Rolly ventured into her own business, Rolly’s, which became a destination at Reynolda Village for many young families and grandmothers in the Triad area for several generations for toys, baby furnishings, and decorating nurseries. She retired in 2004 to spend more time with her family. In her retirement, she enjoyed her garden, she had quite a green thumb! She loved days “out galivanting” with friends while finding “treasures” of all types. Her favorite time was making memories with her growing family.

Rolly is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jack Edward Frazier, Daughters, Vicky(Clay) Poindexter, Sandy(Ken) Dalton, Debbie(Russ) Patterson, and son, Jack Jr.(Connie) Frazier. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Riley(Ian) Bolton, Clayborne(Edward) Burns, Windsor Dalton (Bennet Cooper), Tanner Poindexter (Jessica), Tate Patterson (Austin), Frazier Patterson, Jackson Frazier, Sydney Frazier, and her great-granddaughters Chloe and Bridget Bolton. Also surviving are her sister, Monique Siegenthaler (Paul) of Morges, Switzerland.

The Family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Heather Shearer and Dr. Anthony Kummer and their exceptional staff as well as Alexandra Shephard PA, Peyton Woodruff RN, Autumn Workman RN, Boubacar Denali RN, and Christy Macaffy RN for their compassion and kindness to our mother during her illness.

At Rolly’s request, there will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Forsyth Humane Society, in honor of her beloved Bruno, Forsyth Human Society, 4881 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Condolences may be shared online at www.salemfh.com.
