Judith A. Goedeke Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judith Ann “G-Jaw” Goedeke on March 20, 2025.

Judy passed surrounded by her loving family.  Judy was born on May 9, 1947, in Saint Louis, Missouri.

She loved nothing more than spending time with her husband and her family.

After having her two kids, Kim and John, she spent many years as a homemaker.

Her homemaking and the hours spent in her garden earned her a Beautiful Home Award for Florissant. Once Judy’s kids moved out of the house, her love of caretaking led her to become a preschool teacher for 15 years, where “Ms. Judy” was adored by all her students. She was also an avid Cardinals fan and would rarely miss a game if she could help it.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Jack Goedeke, who stood by her for 56 years. Their relationship was the type that everyone aspires to have—one of endless love, laughs, and joy that more than stood the test of time. It also created countless memories for those who were blessed enough to spend time with them.

She is also survived by her two children, John Goedeke and Kim Streff and her husband Todd; her grandchildren, DJ and his wife Madelyn, Maddie, Corinne, Sophie, Hailey and her husband James, Jayda, Jace, Graham, Lauren and her wife Jennifer, and Will; her great-grandchildren Jayden, Violet, Jerzie, Kaden, and Jenna; her dear friend Barbara Brown; her sisters-in-law Peggy Conners and her partner Jim Calamia, Kay Anderson; and countless other family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Flo Schratz; her mother and father-in-law, Mary and Ollie Goedeke; her brother, Chuck Schratz; her sister, Sue Benson; her brother-in-law, Ollie Goedeke; and her brother-in-law, Terry Goedeke.

As we gather to celebrate Judy’s life, we invite you to attend her funeral services, which will take place on April 5 at Hutchens Mortuary in Florissant, MO, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m.  The family invites you to a Celebration of Judy’s life at Cugino’s 1595 N Hwy 67, Florissant, MO 63031 from 3:30 7:30 pm Saturday, April 5, 2025.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Judy’s love for kids, we are accepting donations to Continuum Education and Therapy, a center that helps children with autism.

Though Judy had to leave us here on Earth, she’ll be watching over us as she joins the rest of her family waiting for her in heaven with open arms. We’ll all miss Judy, but her love, jokes, and the stories she left us will stay with us forever.
