Francisco “Frank” Garcia, Sr.  born July 17, 1928, in Skidmore, TX to Lorenza (Alvarado) and Isidro Garcia.  He passed away March 20, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 96. 

Frank grew up in Skidmore and spent his adult life in Taft, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his wife Elena Garcia and daughter Lorenza Rodriguez.

Survivors include his son Frank, Jr. (Marianita) Garcia from Taft, Texas and Ruben (Diane) Garcia of Taft, Texas.  He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Francisco Javier Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Christopher Daniel Garcia, Helen Marie Rodriguez, Janet Garcia, Lisa Garcia, Amy Garcia, and Mario Chapa.  Popo was also blessed with 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Frank was a loving, playful, and funny father and grandfather.  He always had some good stories to share.  He was retired from Gillman Insulation and Mayo Farms. 

Visitation will begin Monday, March 24, 2025, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 25, 2025, 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Taft. Burial will follow in Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Portland.

The honor of serving as Pallbearers will be: Francisco Javier Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Christopher Daniel Garcia, Jonah Garcia, Tres Rodriguez, Joseph Garcia, Mario Chapa and Amy Garcia.
