Joyce Marie Cain, 78, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Pratt Health and Rehab. She was born on September 6, 1946 in Joplin, Missouri to Rex and Helen (Norris) Johnson.

Joyce married Curtis Coulter on February 27, 1965. To this union four daughters were born, Cathie, Joan, Martie and Janet. They later divorced. Joyce then married Ivan Cain on September 13, 1991 in Reno, Nevada. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1992.

Joyce worked in public service as a waitress, cashier and caregiver. She was a former member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed watching television, reading and spending time with her family. She never knew a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere.

She is survived by her daughters, Cathie (Randall) Somerhalder of Mullinville, Joan Coulter of Haviland, Martie (Jim) Williams of Haviland and Janet (Jerri) Miller of Wichita; sister, Billie (Bob) Fickle of Lenexa; grandchildren, Cristina (BJ) Hayes of Pratt, Garett (Morgan) Somerhalder of Conway Springs, Tandi (Josh) Foust of Protection, Taylor Brozek of Protection, Jamie Williams of Haviland, Evan (Brianna) Williams of Hutchinson, Nick Miller of Wichita and Ryan  Williams of Haviland; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan Cain; and granddaughter, Lacey Somerhalder.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd, Pratt.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2025 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. A Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.

Memorials may be made to Pratt Area Humane Society or Interim Hospice in care of Larrison Mortuary.
