Emma Lou Lyons Newcombe passed away peacefully at the age of 98 on 20 March 2025 at the Nashua Crossings skilled nursing facility in Nashua, NH.

Emma Lou was born February 20, 1927 in Michael, Illinois, the daughter of William Gress, Sr. and Bernice Ewen Gress. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother, retiring to Myrtle Beach, SC in 1985 from Manhasset, NY, relocating to Charlotte, NC in 2018 and finally to Nashua, NH in 2020.

She was predeceased in 1994 by James Joseph Lyons, husband of 44 years, and father of their five children: Patrick Lyons and his wife, Wendy, The Woodlands, TX; Mary Kay Lyons Hanna and her husband, Scott, Nashua, NH; Michael Lyons and his wife, Mary Beth, Marietta, GA; Barbara Ann Lyons Floyd (deceased); and Timothy Lyons (deceased) and his wife, Anne Marie, Vienna, VA. She was also predeceased in 2020 by her second husband of 20 years, Robert Newcombe and by her parents and brother (William Gress, Jr.) She has 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A future memorial Mass will be planned for the immediate family and her ashes will be scattered in the Atlantic Ocean to be with both her husbands and her daughter.
