Frances Smith, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2025. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She was born in Greene County where she married her loving husband, and they later moved to Morristown.
She was an active longtime member of Liberty Hill Methodist Church where she faithfully served for many years as church treasurer, until her health kept her from attending. She loved serving the Lord as she faithfully gave her time by helping with many church activities throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Smith; mother and father, Lester and Reba Myers; and sister, Louise Smelcer.
She is survived by her son, David (Teresa) Smith; daughter, Sandy (Gary) Gilbert; grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Megan and Josh Myers, Bradley and Danielle Gilbert, and Tyler and Jennifer Gilbert; great-grandchildren, who she always called “my babies”, Emma, Abby, Neely, Ella James, Baylor, and Landry.
The family would like to say a special thanks to nurses Jenny and Tina, along with the other staff of Unit 1.
