Northbridge- Pablo Alicea, 82, of Quaker St., passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at UMass University Campus after a sudden illness. He decided to join his beloved wife of 57 years, Beverly A. (Hewett) Alicea exactly one year after her passing.
He is survived by his 3 children, Jayne Alicea of Whitinsville, Paul Alicea and his wife Michelle of Narragansett, RI, and Angelica Alicea Storey of Whitinsville; 3 grandchildren, Katelynn and her husband Fernando, Missy, and Hailey; brother-in-laws, Michael Carter and his wife Melisa of Douglas, and William Carter and his husband Brian also of Douglas. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his 9 brothers and sisters, and his son-in-law, David Storey, who all await him in heaven.
Born on April 29, 1942 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico he was the son of Leon and Francisca (Melendez) Alicea and moved to the Southbridge area when he was 18. He worked as a forklift driver for TJX Corp. out of Worcester 25 years until his retirement in 2008. Previously, he had worked for 13 years for the Ford Motor Company, Framingham in their warehouse. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who enjoyed playing softball and was a great cook. He loved his family and visited with them often. He also enjoyed playing the lottery, especially keno. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Whitinsville.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 25th at 11 am in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home in Uxbridge will be held on Monday, March 24th from 5-7 pm. Memorial donations in Pablo’s memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Center, 20 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757.
