Alice Lucy "Cookie" Farrell, age 87, of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025. Born on February 3, 1938, in Jersey City, she was the beloved daughter of the late Boleslaw and Stella Politowski.
Affectionately known to all as "Cookie," Alice was cherished for her warmth, humor, and boundless heart. Her nickname, given to her early in life, perfectly captured the sweetness and joy she brought into every space she entered.
Cookie dedicated many years as a receptionist at DeFeo Buick, where her kind smile, welcoming demeanor, and genuine care made her a bright light in the workplace. She had a gift for making everyone feel valued, and her presence left a lasting impression on all who met her.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Cookie is survived by her loving husband, James Farrell Jr., her cherished son, James Farrell, and her beloved daughter, Denise Artificio, along with her adoring granddaughter, Toni Anne Artificio. She also leaves behind her dear son-in-law, Anthony Artificio, and a special furry companion who brought her immense joy—Athena, Toni Anne's devoted dog, who Cookie lovingly embraced as part of the family.
Cookie is also survived by her dear brother, Ronald Politowski, and his wife Katherine Politowski, as well as their children: Ronald Politowski Jr., Jodi Benning, and Stephen Politowski. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Albert Politowski.
Cookie had a heart full of compassion and was a lifelong supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, always eager to help those in need. Her community involvement included being an active member of the Holy Rosary Senior Citizens, where she forged lasting friendships and memories. She especially loved bingo nights at Holy Rosary Church in Jersey City, which became a treasured tradition filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Her favorite pastimes were simple and joyful—playing "Left, Right, Center" with loved ones, immersing herself in the heartfelt stories of Danielle Steel novels, and indulging in her love of shopping at ShopRite and Target. Whether she was picking up groceries or browsing for something fun, Cookie found happiness in the experience and often shared it with family and friends. She also had a lifelong passion for dancing, lighting up any room with her vibrant energy.
Among her most cherished traditions was her annual participation in the Holy Rosary Parish Festival, where her café table was a welcoming haven for friends and family. It was here that Cookie's warmth, laughter, and storytelling truly shined, creating a space that will be lovingly remembered by all who gathered there.
Alice "Cookie" Farrell's legacy is one of unconditional love, joyful spirit, and deep devotion to the people—and pets—she held dear. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
