Charles Edward Lander III, 69, of Fulton, passed away on March 20, 2025 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Callaway County on October 3, 1955 to the late Charles E. Lander and the late Annie (Boyce) Lander.

Charlie was united in marriage to Linda J. Craig, Sayers on September 3, 2010.

Charlie was a talented outdoorsman, earning second place in the Missouri Turkey Calling Contest. His other outdoor passions included mushroom hunting, and fishing, which was truly his greatest passion. Professionally, Charles built a reputation as a skilled and hardworking contractor, establishing his own successful business. He was also known for his love of cooking, particularly for large gatherings, and his famous fish fries were a highlight for family and friends alike. He was also an animal lover, with a special place in his heart for all his dogs, who were more than just pets—they were family.

Those that remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda; sons, Darrell Lander (Shelly); stepson, David Craig (Angie); daughters, Angela Callahan (Clayton), Debbie Lander, step daughter, Amy Forsee (Jeff Applebee); sister, Joyce Lander; grandchildren, Bryce Lander, Logan Forsee, Jennelle Mckinney, Austin Detienne, Kayla Detienne, Shyan Patton, Ashlin Patton, Tyler Patton, Kaiden Minor, Brooklyn Minor; great grandchildren, Riley, Melody, Saydee, and Scarlett, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James “Buck” Lander.

Memorial services will be held at Maupin Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. In true Charlie fashion, there will be a Celebration of Life Fish Fry following his service at 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Fulton VFW Post 2657.
