Timothy L. Fretz Obituary

Timothy L. Fretz, 78, of New Tripoli, formerly of Palmer Township, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.


Born February 20, 1947, in Bethlehem, PA, he was a son of the late Elmer E. and Margaret R. (Snyder) Fretz.


He and his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” (Leiderman) Fretz, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 4, 2024.


Tim graduated from Easton Area High School, Class of 1965. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.


He retired as a trooper and K-9 handler from the Pennsylvania State Police, Belfast barracks, where he was employed for over twenty-five years. After retirement, he worked as a field representative for PATHS.


Tim enjoyed family vacations, hunting, especially at the Quinlintown Hunting Club, fishing, and gardening.


He was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Palmer Township.


Tim was also a member of the Quinlintown Gun Club, Pennsylvania State Police Retirees Association, the Marine Corps League, and the American Legion Post 215, Catasauqua.


In addition to his wife, Cindy, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey B. Fretz and his wife Brandy, of Palmer Township; a daughter, Jennifer L. Cooprider and her husband Steve, of Omaha, NE; three grandchildren, Colby, Ryan and Abby; a sister-in-law, Karen Fretz, of Palmer Township; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Bruce W. Fretz.


Services will be held at 11am Friday, March 28th, in St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 3900 Freemansburg Avenue, Palmer Township. Call Friday 10-11am in the church. The Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough, is in charge of arrangements. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
