In Loving Memory of William L. Habenicht, who peacefully passed at his
home on March 20, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Bellaire, Bill was known for his kindness, humor, generosity, and
love of motorcycles and his dog, Ruby. He was a 1973 graduate of Bellaire High School.
He worked in local coal mines and was a heavy equipment operator and manager for
Pultney Township for many years. He could always be counted on to take care of roads
in all types of weather.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca (Porter) Nelson; his parents, Barbara (Siezenga) and Friedol Habenicht. He is survived by
special friend Kim Staskey, stepdaughter Jo Nelson, stepson Steve Nelson, step-
grandson Aiden Nelson, brother Thomas Habenicht, sisters JoAnn Rankin, Betsy
Ashcraft, and Brenda Braid. Bill has many in-laws, nieces and nephews that he loved
and was loved by in return.
As we mourn the loss of Bill, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived. A memorial
banquet will be held at The Sons of Italy, 3348 Belmont Street, Bellaire, Ohio, on
Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 12:30 to 4:00 PM, where friends and family can come
together to honor his life and share their fondest memories.
