Doris E. Trout Obituary

Doris E. Trout, age 85, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Born April 19, 1939 in Mechanicsburg, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm W. and Catherine S. (Shover) Hopkins.



Doris retired from the former Mechanicsburg Insurance Services and Gunn Mowery Insurance Company after 50 years of dedicated service as both an office manager and insurance agent. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Enola and in her free time enjoyed traveling and doing needlework and embroidery.



Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert H. Kohr and by her brother, David A. Hopkins. Surviving is her husband of 21 years, Stewart R. Trout; her daughters, Robin L. Kramer and husband John, Denise S. Barker and husband Carl, and Victoria A. Graft-Hutterer and husband Frank; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dennis N. Hopkins.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 27 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, where there will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Stone Church) Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Doris’s church at 6839 Wertzville Road, Enola, PA 17025.
