Jean Ann Marrs Obituary
Jean Ann Marrs, 92, of Nitro, WV left her earthly home and went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Born and raised in Diamond, Jean was a graduate of DuPont High School. She worked 39 years at the “telephone company” Bell Atlantic which she retired from in 1989. Upon retirement, Jean enjoyed traveling, often on bus trips with her church.
Jean is preceded in death by her father FM “Joe” and mother Cecil White Jordan; her loving husband of 68 years James “Jim” Marrs. She is survived by her son and daughter in law Bruce and Lori Marrs; 2 grandchildren Krista Marrs (Bill) Thornton and Alex (Chelsey) Marrs; and 3 great grandchildren Julian Thornton, Jordan Marrs, and Kamlyn Thornton.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 pm at Cooke Funeral Home Nitro on March 24, 2025. Entombment at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, WV will follow the visitation.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Kim Miller and staff at Magnolia Assisted Living who provided exceptional care for Jean during her time there, and to HospiceCare at CAMC Memorial for the extraordinary care in her last days.
