Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Elijah Paul Anderson will be held on Monday, March 24th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville with Brother Keith Lamartiniere officiating. Burial will follow in the Lamartiniere Cemetery, in Marksville, Louisiana under the direction of Hixson Brothers’s Funeral Home, Marksville.
Mr. Anderson, age 70, of Marksville, passed away on Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at Bayou Chateau Nursing Home in Simmesport, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Viola Guillot Anderson.
Elijah Paul Anderson was born on November 4th, 1954, in Pasadena, Texas. He was the first born of five children of Jack Anderson and Viola Guillot Anderson Bordelon. He attended and graduated from Lafargue in 1973. During his school years, Paul excelled musically and was a gifted trumpet player, pianist, and singer. He was even offered a music scholarship to Bethany Nazarene University.
Paul served in the U.S. Air Force after high school. He married Savina Milazzo Anderson in Alexandria, Louisiana and they raised three children. Paul and Savina both worked and lived in Alexandria, and Paul worked for UPS for two decades before retiring to Avoyelles Parish. During his younger years, Paul’s gift of singing was so prestigious, he even sang at a Presidential Inauguration, and he also sang in Bethlehem Square on Christmas Eve.
Paul is survived by Savina Milazzo Anderson; children, Philip Anderson of Marksville, Mary Anderson Crawford (Richard) of Fifth Ward and Valerie Anderson of Markville; two brothers, Charles Anderson (Tammy) of Marksville and Robert “Bobby” Anderson (Vicky) of Marksville; sisters, Jenise Borrel (Pierre) of Markville, and Sandy Spears (Richard) of Marksville; also three grandchildren.
The family requests visitation be observed on Monday, March 24th, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville.
