Clara Joanne Arnold age 90 of Colchester, passed away at 6:18 A.M. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Bickford Cottage, in Macomb.  She was born July 31, 1934 in Macomb to Pagie and Katie Bowman Settles.  Joanne was united in marriage to Robert Arnold on July 19, 1952 in Macomb, IL, he preceded her in death on November 19, 1995.

Joanne is survived by 4 children, 1 son: David (Pam) Arnold, Macomb, 3 daughters: Debra (Mike) Bigger, Wyoming, Illinois, Connie Frost, Frisco, Texas, Janet McNutt, South Padre Island, Texas, 8 grandchildren: Dustin Bigger, Katelyn Bigger, Ty Arnold, Jessica Frost, Brandon Frost, Ryan Rowland, Aaron Rowland, Jaclyn Ellis, 4 great grandchildren: Natalie Newell, Gavin Newell, Remi Rowland, Oden Rowland, 1 brother: Dale Settles, Macomb, 1 sister: Janice Shive, Clinton IL

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Audrey Settles, JT settles, Leslie Settles, Howard Settles, Fremond Settles, and sisters:  Evelyn Bunt, Emma Welty, Wanda McRaven, Barbra Combs and Maxine Hilton.

Joanne grew up on a farm in Good Hope, Illinois and attended a country school. She was a very active member at St. Paul Church in Macomb, working many years at the St. Paul rummage sale and helping out wherever she could at the church. She was also a member of the Colchester Sew and So Club. She had been an election judge for Colchester and worked many years at the Colchester Library. She was also very involved with many other local clubs. Joanne took great pride in her home and could be seen outdoors working on her yard from spring to fall.

Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday.  Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic  Church in Macomb, with Father Marc Nkulu.  Burial will follow the services at St. Paul Cemetery in Macomb.   Memorial is to St. Paul Catholic Church in Macomb.
