Marilynn J. Schneider, 91, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 9, 1933, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Roy M. and Dorothy E. (Ranson) Stout. She married Robert L. “Bob” Schneider on Aug. 8, 1954, in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Robert R. “Robb” (Leslie) Schneider of Aurora, CO; Michael L. (Donna) Schneider of Jacksonville, and Steven E. Schneider of Lexington; four grandchildren, Bryan (Nicole) Schneider of Parker, CO, Rebecca Schneider (Sean Martin) of Snohomish, WA, Matthew Schneider of Overland, MO, and Emily (Matt) Lagergren of Jacksonville; three great grandchildren, Emma Martin, Dominic Schneider, and Colton Lagergren; her sister, Shirley (Kenneth) Lindsey of Normal; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Schneider was a 1951 graduate of Jacksonville High School and then graduated from Passavant School of Nursing in 1954. She was a registered nurse at Passavant Hospital, and then worked at Illinois School for the Visually Impaired, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Central Christian Church, the Audubon Society, and Passant Hospital Alumni. Marilynn was an avid birdwatcher and a Die-Hard Chicago Cubs fan.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. The family will meet friends 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to Central Christian Church. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
