Billie Horton Poindexter Taylor, 95, of Trimble, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 20,, 2025. Born on August 19, 1929, in Milan, Tennessee, to William and Sarah Poindexter, Billie lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Billie was married to the late Dr. Edwin Taylor, with whom she shared a beautiful life together.
She was a devoted mother to Carolyn Taylor of Trimble, TN; Bill Taylor (Jane) of Trimble, TN; Mark Taylor (Leesa) of Shelbyville, TN; and Susan Revell (Mike) of Union City, TN.
She was a proud grandmother to Jeff Weatherly (Beth), Amber Taylor, Andrew Taylor (Sheila), Emily Beller (Fabi), and Jason Revell, and a great-grandmother to Neely Farr (Sam), Addie Butler (Bo), Justin Weatherly, Hannah Weatherly, Hallie Revell, and John Walker Revell, Sarah Tubbs and family, Jessica Chism and family and Andrew Wallace and family, Billie also celebrated the joy of being a great-great-grandmother to Mary Anne Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Poindexter, her beloved husband, Dr. Edwin Taylor, and her two sisters, Ellen (Tiny) Neergaard and Martha Barnett.
Billie was a lifelong member of the Trimble Christian Church, where she found comfort in her faith and community.
She was known for her quick wit and infectious laughter, earning her the affectionate nickname "Mama Bill" from her friends.
Her favorite pastimes included gathering around the kitchen table to play cards with family and friends and watching the hummingbirds on her porch.
A true storyteller at heart, Billie loved to regale others with her favorite tale of the "Wide Mouth Frog." She was also a passionate fan of the University of Tennessee sports teams, always cheering on her beloved Volunteers with enthusiasm.
Mama Bill’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her kindness, humor, and love for life will never be forgotten.
A celebration of her life service will be held at Trimble Christian Church on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Officiating this service will be Rev. John Carroll and Rev. John Lowrance. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of the family requests donations be made to the Trimble Christian Church, 305 Mitchell Street, Trimble, Tennessee 38259.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all of her caregivers for the love and support that they gave her and her entire family.
