Donna H. Gordon of Virginia Beach passed away peacefully March 20, 2025. She was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late, William and Pauline Halfenberg. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, C. Darrell Gordon, her son, Mark Gordon, a brother, John Halfenberg; and daughter-in-law, Diane Mort (Kyle).

Donna began her career with GE Corporation. However, it was a chance encounter on a flight with a porter, C. Darrell Gordon, who would later become her husband that changed her life’s course. Together, they built a life in North Carolina before settling in Virginia Beach, where they raised their two sons; Mark and Kyle.

Donna was a vibrant and active woman who found joy in many activities, including bowling, tennis, dominoes, playing cards, riding motorcycles, and attending NASCAR races. She also loved Aqua Zumba and treasured every moment spent with family and friends. She was a longtime and devoted member of Kings Grant Presbyterian Church, where her faith and community brought her great comfort and joy.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kyle Gordon; brother, Bruce Halfenberg, grandson, Christopher Cucchiara and her great-grandson, Creed Cucchiara.; a sister-in-law, Jean Halfenberg; and a daughter in law, Amanda Gordon (Mark). She is also fondly remembered by extended family members, including Susan Dolson and her husband, Mark; the entire Sivils family, and many, many dear friends.

Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers for their compassionate and dedicated care.

A memorial service will be held on April 11th, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Kings Grant Presbyterian Church, 745 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

Donna’s kindness, warmth, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
