Anne S. Casey

Anne Serafini Casey, a lifelong Winsted resident, died peacefully at her home at the age of 92 on December 26, 2018. Born on June 7, 1926, Anne was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Teresa (DeLeo) Serafini. Anne retired from the State of Connecticut Tax Department and enjoyed her retirement years in her home on Highland Lake. She attended St. Anthony School and graduated from the Gilbert School. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Church. She leaves behind her beloved family, daughter Kathleen M. Casey, Mary Anne Casey and her husband Richard Weingart, daughter-in-law Kathy Casey Ryan and her husband Ted. She was predeceased by her son, Timothy M. Casey. In addition to her children, her greatest joy were her three grandsons, Justin Rylander and partner Heather Ryalls, Brandon Casey and Casey Weingart, and great grandchildren Matthew and Shiloh Rylander. She was fortunate to have two bonus grandchildren Matthew and Maura Ryan. Anne also leaves behind her sister-in-law Lucy Serafini and several nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her 6 brothers, Dr. Frederick Serafini, Anthony Serafini, Joseph Serafini, Valentine Serafini, Ferdinand Serafini and Benjamin Serafini and two sisters, Marie Serafini and Sylvia Serafini. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Church, Winsted at 10:00 AM. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Joseph New Cemetery in the spring. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted has care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Timothy M.
