Ethan Stein

Ethan Patrick Stein passed away on December 14, 2018 at the age of 20. Ethan is the beloved son of Kendall Stein (nee Hypes) and Frederick Stein, and the loving brother of Charles, Daisy, and Hayden. He will forever be the cherished grandson of Robert O’Connell and Barbara Stein (nee Murphy), preceded in death by Judith O’Connell (nee Olesen) and Bill Stein. He is the adored nephew of Tom (Eileen) Stein, Catherine (Steve) Arnold, Felicia (Jack) Havenaar, Maura (Joe) Martinello, Deidre (Dominic) Susin, Gary Hypes, Heather (David) O’Bryan, Bethany (Lee) Priester, Cory (Loren) Hypes, Elizabeth (Damon) Wos, Kathryn O’Connell and Andrew O’Connell and Tom Murphy. Ethan is the loving cousin of Taylor and Dillon Hypes; Allie, Claudia and Nolan Hypes; Delaney, Mackenzie and Emma O’Bryan; Charlotte, Harry and Hannah Priester; Liam, Ewan, Miles and Graeme Wos; Tommy, Matthew, Michael, Martin and Danny Stein; Elliana and Mei Arnold; Jack, Tim, Ian and Nora Havenaar; Bill, Kate and Anna Martinello; and Olivia, Joe and Bobby Susin. Name-giver and loyal companion to Starsky the cat. Beautiful and vibrant, Ethan was a raw and real soul. He led his life with a full heart and steady hand. Whether it was his belief in the power of medicine and healing, or his kind and soft wisdom with which he guided others, “E” was a beacon for those that knew him. General visitation for family and all friends will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S Grant St, Hinsdale, IL 60521. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 306 W. 4th Street, Hinsdale, IL 60521. Interment will immediately follow at Bronswood Cemetery in Oak Brook.
