William Henry Jensen William Henry Jensen born October 19, 1940 in Logan Utah died peacefully in his sleep December 4th 2018. Bill, as he was known to many, was a loving father, papa, husband and companion. Born to Birdean & Cyril Jensen, Bill spent much of his childhood growing up in the Vista neighborhood of Boise and at the age of 12 he pulled a 3-year old boy from an irrigation canal. That boys life was spared due to Bills quick thinking and recently we located his man and shared this with him. It brought a smile to his face to know how others succeeded. Bill loved to hunt and fish and once told the story of his brother Robert and him hunting birds along the Ridenbaugh Canal. Robert swung on some birds shooting only to spray Bill with shot. Both boys were so scared to tell mom or dad, they kept the incident a secret. He held a piece of that shot in his face for almost 50-years before it finally came out while he was in South Carolina. In 1958, Bill joined the Navy, serving 20 years during the Vietnam War, retiring at the rank of Machinist Master Chief. During his service, he met and married Lynne Dietrich and together they shared three children, Keith, Sariah and Nathaniel. Bill and Lynne spent 27-years together before she left us. In 2001, he married Catherine Brown and together the family grew with the addition of 4-adult children Elizabeth, Scott, Doug & Melissa. Together Bill and Rene made many cross-country trips racking up countless toll-road violations and many unforgettable stories of the road. An avid fisherman, countless tales were shared about The one that got away or the famous lassoed fish that was simply caught in his line. Hearing him yell from the shoreline when he caught one will stay etched in our minds indefinitely. Bill loved his dogs and never encountered one who didnt think he wasnt the greatest man ever. All his dogs and those he met loved his scratches. They were generously loved and at times generously fed. Bill loved his grandchildren and never turned down an opportunity to participate in school events, scouting ceremonies, assemblies, parades, excursions, movies or anything else they happened to be into at the time. He is preceded in death by his first wife Lynne, his mother Birdean, father Cyril, sister Kathy and brother Robert. The family wishes to thank the tireless efforts provided by St Lukes MSTI and Hospice for their determination to enable Bill to live well beyond what most thought possible. Dr. Zuckerman and his staff did remarkable things while assisting Bill and exemplified compassion and care in their work. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations made to St. Lukes Mountain States Tumor Institute. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.Obituary
