Michael Wayne Pruitt, 57, of Lebanon, Va., passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Richlands, Va., on December 27, 1960, he was the son of Billie Jean Pruitt and the late Charles Henry Pruitt. He was of the Christian faith and had worked for 15 years at Carter Machinery in Bluefield, W.Va.

He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife, Teresa C. Pruitt; sons, Josh Pruitt and Johnathan Pruitt and wife Kristen; step-daughter, Ashley Mills and husband Matthew; mother, Billie Jean Pruitt; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Teresa B. Pruitt; grandchildren, Emma Pruitt, Alexander Pruitt, Anya M. Mills, Kayleigh Walls, and one on the way, M.J. Pruitt; niece, Leah Pruitt; nephew, Colton Pruitt. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jeff Kinder officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Cedar Bluff, Va.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
