Sharon E. Gruell, age 79, of Wales, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 13, 2025. Sharon was born in Milwaukee, WI on May 23, 1945 to Walter and Norma (Trampe) Kohl.

Sharon should be remembered for her kindness and compassion. She was a dedicated, passionate teacher in the Waukesha School District and St. Johns Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield where she shared her love of science and math with her students. She was an active member of her church and routinely helped teach Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Beyond teaching, she enjoyed gardening, crafting, reading, and visiting with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and had a knack for telling stories. Later in life, she enjoyed doing puzzles and baking treats for her granddogs. When you see a leaf floating gently in the wind, remember Sharon. Her work here is done, but she made an impact that can’t be forgotten.

Sharon is survived by her son, Brian (Elizabeth) Gruell; her sister-in-law, Marcia Kohl; her life long partner and friend, Robert Gruell; her niece, Chris Mayer (Kohl) and nephew, Eric Kohl; along with many other relatives and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Kohl.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated staff at Angel’s Grace for their wonderful care of Sharon.

Visitation for Sharon will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM at Reformation Lutheran Church (S39W32819 CTH-D, Dousman) until the time of services at 11:30 AM.  Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Wales. WI.
