Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Louise H. Howell, 94, of Anniston, will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Anniston Memorial Gardens. Son-in-law, Steve Worthy, will be officiating the service. Mrs. Howell will be laid to rest in Anniston Memorial Gardens following the graveside service.
Mrs. Howell gained her heavenly reward, meeting her Savior face to face, on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Preceding Mrs. Howell in death are her husband, Ben F. Howell; her daughter, Sharon H. Street; and her parents, Brice and Carrie Taylor Hill.
Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Howell include her daughter, Vicki Worthy (Steve); her grandchildren, Leah Worthy, Kyle Worthy (Mica), Lara Carr, and Bart Street (Jennifer); her great-grandchildren, Mac Street, Sydney Street, Ben Carr, Brice Worthy, and Winston Worthy; a very close cousin, Carolyn Pippin; and a special “fur” grandbaby, Lucy.
Mrs. Howell was a devoted Christian and loved her Lord and Savior. She exemplified what it meant to be Christ-like and loved everyone with her whole heart. Mrs. Howell was a founding member of Indian Oaks Christian Church where she attended for many years.
Mrs. Howell was known for her ability and talent to cook and people often enjoyed Sunday dinners at her home. Some of her best-known recipes include her famous “spaghetti, cheese, tomatoes” and her cake with chocolate icing. Mrs. Howell and her husband Ben, best known as “Daddy Ben”, created a life and legacy throughout their years together.
Marrying at 16 years old, Mrs. Howell and her husband were blessed with 68 years of wonderful marriage until his passing in 2014. Over the years many people visited their home and knew from the moment they stepped in the front door they were always welcome. In her spare time, Mrs. Howell enjoyed spending time with her family. To know Mrs. Howell was to love her, and she will forever be remembered for her generous and caring nature.
A very special thanks is given to Mrs. Howell’s caregivers, Alivia, Patsy, Jane, and Robbie, who cared deeply for her. Through their devoted support and care Mrs. Howell was able to stay in her home until the time of her passing.
