Timothy J. Thomsen, age 59, passed away on March 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by his beloved family. Born on March 7, 1966, in Rochester, Indiana. Timothy lived a life marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering work ethic.
Timothy was the cherished son of Glen Charles and Judy Jo (Hofer) Thomsen. He grew up in a nurturing environment that instilled in him the values of hard work, family and faith. Throughout his life, these values guided him both personally and professionally.
Professionally, Timothy was a Heavy Equipment Operator for RW Mercer, where he was known as a dependable and skilled worker. He approached his job with the same dedication and integrity that characterized his life, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. A man of many interests, Timothy loved spending time on the lake, enjoying the beauty of nature and the tranquility it offered. He was an enthusiastic golfer, often found on the golf course, reveling in friendly competition with family and friends. His warmth and genuine nature drew people to him, and he touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
On March 10, 1990, Timothy married the love of his life, Karrie (Fransted) Thomsen, in a heartfelt ceremony at St. Joe's Shrine in Jackson County. Together, they built a beautiful life, celebrating 35 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Timothy was a devoted husband and a proud father, nurturing his two daughters, Kaitlynn (Jesse) Hernandez of Cement City, MI, and Kassidy (Matt) Treacey of Brooklyn, MI. He took immense joy in being a grandfather to Thomsen "Thomi" and Rudi Hernandez. Timothy is also survived by his brother, Douglas Thomsen of Lawrence, MI. His family was his greatest treasure.
Timothy was a dedicated member of the Lutheran Church of the Lakes, where he contributed to his community and forged lasting friendships. His legacy of compassion and caring extended beyond his family, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, March 22, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at Lutheran Church of the Lakes in Addison, MI, with Pastor Jim Weist officiating. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Timothy's memory are encouraged to make a donation to The University of Michigan – Rogel Cancer Center.
