Larry Lee McClain, age 87, of Grant, went to his Heavenly Home on February 14, 2025 in Fremont, Michigan.


He was born on February 5, 1938 to Edward and Ruth (Brown) McClain/Church in New Era, Michigan. Living in Shelby before moving to Grant in 1955.


He loved his family and friends dearly and you could always see him outside in his yard, as he enjoyed being outside taking care of his house and yard.


Larry is survived by his daughters, Sheryl (Mike) Webster, Jill (Jim) Herdegen; grandchildren, Katie Webster, Rachel (Benny) Blanzy, Michelle (Adam) Wood, Emma (Skyler) Partee, Jeremy Herdegen, Elizabeth “Libby” Cagle; great-grandchildren, Treylen Blanzy, Finnley Blanzy, Samantha Wood, Troy Wood; brother, Jim (Nancy) McClain; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and caring community of friends and neighbors.


He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Harry “Pike” Church; wife, Janet (Sutake) McClain; daughter, Sherrie (McClain) Rish; son-in-law, Donald Rish; brother, Corvin “Junior” McClain; sisters, June Chittenden, Beverly (Lester) Shaffer, and Virginia (Brad) Smith.


The memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Grant Wesleyan Church, 688 W 112th St, Grant, MI 49327. Family will greet friends and relatives 1 hour prior to service.


Memorials are Suggested to Newaygo County Compassion Home, 20 S Stewart Ave, Fremont, MI 49412 or the Grant Wesleyan Church.
