Josephus Wong was born on February 15, 1944 in Campti Louisiana to the late Deacon Nathaniel Wong, Sr. and Olevia Donaway Wong. He was affectionately known as Ninner. Josephus Wong passed away at the Wong Estate in Campti, Louisiana, on Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Eula Shelby- Wong; his parents: Deacon Nathaniel, Sr. and Olevia Donaway Wong; his siblings: Emile "Cy" Wong, (Betty Batiste Wong), Lucille Wong Curtis- Robinson (James Robinson), Eala Mae Wong, Nathaniel Wong, Jr., Charles E. Wong (Lois Wong), his twin brother, Joesias "Teem" Wong (Mildred Roque-Wong), Anna Mae Wong, Rosemary Wong- Stafford (William Stafford), Paulette Wong, and Jennie Lee Wong- Winslow.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons: Jeffery Wong and Anthony Ray of Missouri City, Texas, his youngest brother Paul Wong (Sharon Nora-Wong) of Shreveport, Louisiana, and his youngest sister, Stephanie Wong-Ortiz (Carlos Ortiz) of San Pablo, California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
